A pioneer in a delicious cohort.

‍

This little Wagyu, grass-fed and serene

Raised by a farmer whose philosophy was keen

On finishing on grass, a carbon-efficient way

Best steak competitions won, a prize to display

‍

Direct from farm to plate was his fate

No abattoir or distribution, a unique state

A mobile abattoir came to his farm

And with skilled hands, he met no harm

‍

Cut and shaped by a caring butcher's hand

He was placed on plates across Auckland

Generations of his family from Japan came before

Michael, a colonel, led a better way to adore

‍

No synthetic fertilisers on his land, he commanded

He knew we must give back more than we demanded

A stand for farm to fork, for a better future to support

This little Wagyu, a pioneer in a delicious cohort.

FAQ

Common Questions

When can I expect delivery?

Processing resumes in early 2024. Join the forward order list now, and you will be notified when the next animal is ready for delivery.

What cuts are available?

Everything from the nose to the tail, curated into a selection of boxes. Enough for a couple, a family or a community. Food service options are available too. Get in early to get the cuts you want.

Can I get it elsewhere?

Selected restaurants and butchers have access to Earth First meat. Ask your locals.

Why hasn't this been available before?

Current regulations prohibit "home killed" meat being sold. But, an innovative approach to mobile abattoirs enable them to be licensed, and therefore supply meat direct to market. Change starts with a choice.
